ITT: The Dream, Plan, Build series. What do you think?

Personally, I liked it at first. The first few DVDs had a very varied selection of Toy Trains, Very nice Model Railroads, some interesting prototype information, and of course modelling tips.

The later DVDs though, I'm not impressed. The "Real Rails" sub-series has WAY too much repeated footage, sometimes one right after the other. The one on Coal showed the same NS coal train bounce over the same switch at least 3 times, as well as interview quotes being repeated. And WAY too much time was spent on NS, the only CSX was a single 20-year old clip, and they spent about 5 minutes on BNSF and UP.

What does /r/ think?

I googled around abit and there's been some complaints with these things, i dont think i'd bother. Like the fact they went from about $10 a piece to $25.

Also as you said production isnt the best, Kalmbach can make a helluva magazine and a few yearly publications but i think they skimped on these.

Price jump? I don't remember them EVER being $10.

The biggest skimp I noticed was the DVD on Horseshoe Curve. It was an exact copy of a VHS I watched when I was a kid (still have it too)
